Kid-friendly snack — Peanut butter apple frogs

Kid-friendly snack — Peanut butter apple frogs

Getting creative with how we present snacks can make eating healthy more fun for kids. Why not make it healthy AND fun at the same time.

Ingredients

apples
grapes
blueberries
sunflower seeds (optional)
natural, unsweetened, organic peanut butter (or non-nut butter for kids with nut allergies) or honey

Preparation

1. Slice and core apple.
2. Spread the peanut butter or honey between two apple slices.
3. Add two dabs of peanut butter or honey on the top slice.
4. Add a two blueberries over the peanut butter or honey daps.
5. Cut grapes in half and add feet.
6. Add seeds to blueberries with peanut butter or honey.

And voila! You have a kid-friendly super healthy snack that includes both fruit and protein!

Notes: Well, hold up. Not so voila, actually. Let me add some footnotes. Natural peanut butter is runny, so don't use much. Also, some kids may prefer honey as a binder if they don't like peanut butter.
