Most of the time getting into shape seems like a daunting task. When you’ve not been in shape, it’s been a while, or you’ve plateaued, the how is a big question mark. How do I get into shape? Where do I go from here? For the longest time, the how was the biggest mystery to me, too. I’ve been on a long journey toward better health and fitness—toward living my better. Along the way I learned a lot, and I’d love to share what I’ve learned. This is how I finally reached my “get into shape” goal.
Step 1
If you’ve made it your goal to get into shape this month, this year, or even in the next few years, the first step is to realize you can do it. Set your mind to success. See success in your mind. Forget all the negative thoughts. Decide that today is your first day on your fitness journey and begin by believing. Believe you can do it, and you will. As soon as you believe and become determined to get in shape, you can get in shape. That’s how it happened for me, so I know this works.
Step 2
Pick a fitness and healthy eating program that you like, believe in and that has a proven track record. You don’t need to reinvent any wheels, as I thought I had to. Find a program that works. Find a group of like-minded people to join you on your journey. And find something you can love and become dedicated to.
Step 3
Keep your mind focused on your goal every day and push yourself, even on the days when you think you can’t. The reality is that you CAN do it. You CAN push yourself. You CAN reach your goals when you pick the right program and then prepare.
